Cats are incredibly agile, but they are also experts at hiding chronic pain. Feline physiotherapy is a gentle, specialised service designed to keep your cat nimble and pain-free, particularly as they enter their senior years.
Common Conditions We Support:
- Osteoarthritis: Often missed in cats—look for reluctance to jump or changes in grooming.
- Injury Recovery: such as Fractures or soft tissue trauma.
- Neurological: Supporting coordination and nerve function.
How The Session Runs:
We understand that for a cat, "Physio" can sound like "Vet," and "Vet" can mean "Stress." Our goal as ISFM accredited cat friendly professionals is to change that narrative by working entirely on feline time.
- Vet Liaison: We handle the admin! We contact your vet for history and consent to ensure a safe, multi-disciplinary approach.
- The Settle Period: We don’t walk in and immediately touch your cat. We spend the first 15 minutes chatting with you while your cat observes us from their safe space (whether that’s a high shelf or under the sofa).
- Scent Exchange: We allow your cat to investigate our equipment and our scent on their own terms.
- Comprehensive Assessment: We observe your cat jump, stretch, and groom before we ever lay a hand on them. Then, we check soft tissues, joints, spine, and neurological responses.
- Treatment: Think "Pet Pilates" combined with soothing manual work and advanced tech like LASER or pulsed electromagnetic field therapy.
- The Plan: You’ll receive a tailored home exercise programme via Equicantis, featuring clear video instructions.
